An Abacus Energy Solutions audit is the first step to assess how much energy your home consumes and to evaluate what measures you can take to make your home more energy efficient. An audit will show you problems that may, when corrected, save you significant amounts of money over time. During the audit, you can pinpoint where your house is losing energy. Audits also determine the efficiency of your home's heating and cooling systems. An audit may also show you ways to conserve hot water and electricity.
Abacus Energy Solutions auditors use a variety of techniques and equipment to determine the energy efficiency of a structure. Thorough audits often use equipment such as blower doors, which measure the extent of leaks in the building envelope, and infrared cameras, which reveal hard-to-detect areas of air infiltration and missing insulation.
At Abacus Energy Solutions there are three different types of Home Performance with Energy Star® audits:
Home Check with ENERGY STAR® by Abacus Energy Solutions
This 1-1.5 hour Home Performance with ENERGY STAR inspection focuses on combustion safety, home health issues and general energy efficiency within your home. An Abacus Energy Solutions auditor will use special diagnostic equipment to measure and diagnose air quality and safety issues within your home. Protecting you and your family is our top priority.

This test is ONLY $125 from the regular price of $199.
With this inspection you will receive:
A detailed report on safety issues within your home and recommendations for low-cost DIY energy solutions, additional testing options and possible energy efficiency upgrades for your home.
A total air leakage calculation for your home using a blower door.
An estimate of your home’s carbon footprint and energy consumption in relation to other houses in Oregon and the United States.
A recommended plan of action for future home efficiency improvements and qualify for special Energy Trust of Oregon incentives available only to Home Performance with Energy Star® customers.
Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® by Abacus Energy Solutions
This comprehensive 3–4 hour home assessment is led by a certified Abacus Energy Solutions auditor who uses state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to assess, test and evaluate all components of your home's health, safety and energy performance.

With this inspection you will receive:
- A detailed energy consumption report and customized action plan for home efficiency improvements, comparing what you pay now to what you could be paying when your home runs at peak performance.
- A total air leakage calculation for your home using a blower door and air leak identification in all areas of your home using infrared imaging and other diagnostic equipment.
- An estimate of your home’s carbon footprint and energy consumption in relation to other houses in Oregon and the United States.
- A list of available cash incentives for efficiency improvements to your home and payback analysis that guarantees return of your investment.
ENERGY STAR® with COMFORT CONTROL by Abacus Energy Solutions
This is the highest level of energy auditing service and usually takes 3-4 hours to complete the inspection and 3-4 hours for the reporting. Energy Star with Comfort Control includes both the Home Check and the Home Performance with Energy Star service and a complete comfort analysis of your duct system and air delivery.
With this inspection you will receive:
- A detailed energy consumption report and customized action plan for home efficiency improvements, comparing what you pay now to what you could be paying when your home runs at peak performance.
- A total air leakage calculation for your home using a blower door and air leak identification in all areas of your home using infrared imaging and other diagnostic equipment.
- A total air leakage calculation for your duct system and air delivery diagnostics for all areas in your home using a blower door and dust blaster test.
- An estimate of your home’s carbon footprint and energy consumption in relation to other houses in Oregon and the United States.
- A list of available cash incentives for efficiency improvements to your home and payback analysis that guarantees return of your investment.
- Tests before the and after improvements have been made to the home.
- We will complete all of the paperwork for your incentives so you don't have to.
